Local vacant schools saved
By SARA BRUMFIELD

Thanks to a number of community organizations, several vacant school buildings throughout the county have been saved from the wrecking ball, now serving as community centers, churches and social centers.
Community organizations breathe new life into the buildings, turning what could have been demolished into community assets. Thanks to efforts of community volunteers, these buildings have become virtual beehives of activity.
