Members to vote on legislation that would bar discrimination

Members of Athens City Council are proposing the endorsement of pending legislation before the Ohio Legislature that would bar discrimination by sexual orientation or gender identity in employment, housing and public accommodations.
Called the Equal Housing and Employment Non-Discrimination Act, the measure is pending in the Ohio House and Senate.
