Stowaway groundhog leads wildlife officer on chase

Sometimes when you hear a knocking under the hood of your car, it’s a sign you need to see a mechanic. Other times, it’s a sign you need to stop and let the groundhog out.

Such was the case of “Athenian George,” a groundhog found Tuesday in Athens under the hood of a Millfield family’s car. Rebecca, Ted and Cheri Martin had a busy day on Tuesday running errands around Athens. At their final stop of the day, they discovered the furry stowaway.
