NELSONVILLE — William A. “Bill” Matheny, 52, of Nelsonville, Ohio, passed away peacefully May 8, 2013, at Riverside Methodist Hospital Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
He worked for Advance Painting; enjoyed motorcycle and car races, and fishing; was an avid OSU fan.
Surviving are his father John (Florence) Matheny of Albany; sister Michelle (Gerald) Jack of Murray City; niece Staci (Wolfe) Nungester of Logan; nephews Shawn Wolfe of Logan and Jared Jack of Murray City; great-nieces Sariah McKnight and Carliegh Nungester; great-nephew Caleb Nungester; great-great niece Jaicelynn McFarland; his fiance Cheryl Champ of Nelsonville and her daughters Amanda Karns, Elisha (Tommy) Gould, Tanya & Carlye Robson; his best friend, his dog Duke; special friends Bruce Russell, Paul Russell, Dave Bethsheider, and Charlie Macinelli.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother Rosalie Evans-Matheny; great-aunt Almedia Moody; maternal grandparents Elmer Evans and Elsie Wilson Evans; paternal grandparents Alfred Matheny and Enid Ellis-Matheny.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2013, at the Warren-Brown Funeral Home Nelsonville, Ohio, with Pastor Larry Wolfe officiating. Burial will be Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville, Ohio.
Calling hours will be observed Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
