Editor, The Messenger:

I write about the March 14 Associated Press article on gerrymandering in Ohio of the 16 congressional districts.

Ohio Republicans only top Democrats by a few percentage points. So why are there 12 Republican congresspersons to four Democrats?

It should be more like 10 to six, or nine to seven Republicans over Democrats, if the districts were drawn more fairly.

The late Dave Horn of Athens County was an outstanding proponent of greater fairness in drawing voting districts. It is good that Marcy Kaptur (D-Toledo) is a congressperson highlighting Ohio gerrymandering.
