Editor, The Messenger:
Back in February, I wrote to your newspaper asking you to publish a letter to your readers about helping me with my state project. Your readers were amazing! I received so many personal letters and unique items from your state and I am so thankful.
Dear people of Ohio: thank you thank you thank you! When I wrote a letter to you back in February, I had no idea that I would receive 18 pieces of mail from your state!
I was so excited when packages started arriving from different places in Ohio. I received newspapers, a t-shirt, magnets, magazines, trinkets and more interesting things. You can see a picture of my final project; this is just one view of my “State Fair Float,” as many items were attached to the sides and the back of it as well. I couldn’t fit al lthe good stuff you sent me on my little desk!
Since you shared so much information with me about Ohio, I wanted to share a little bit of information with you about Virginia. There are five regions in my state: Coastal Plain, Piedmont, Blue Ridge, Valley and Ridge, and Appalachian Plateau. The state tree is the Dogwood.
This project could not have been the success that it was without you! I am so grateful.
