12:28 a.m. — Deputies responded to a possible drug overdose in The Plains. The involved subject was transported to the hospital by way of EMS. Drug related items were seized from the scene for destruction.
12:28 a.m. — Deputies responded to an activated business alarm in The Plains. Deputies cleared the area, finding the business to be secure with no signs of entry. Deputies returned to patrol.
7:17 p.m. — Deputies responded with ACEMS to a report of a driver going the wrong way on State Route 50 West in Coolville. The female was evaluated by EMS and transported home by a family member.
12 p.m. — Deputies received a report of possible stalking. A report has been filed and both parties have agreed to have no contact with one another.
12:14 p.m. — Deputies responded to Athens for a report of a suspicious male. Deputies patrolled the area but had negative contact with the male.
4:08 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a horse in the roadway on Sams Road in Albany. Deputies patrolled the area and determined that the horse was no longer a hazard.
4:38 p.m. — A deputy was dispatched to Piggly Wiggly in The Plains for a report of a suspicious male walking around the parking lot. Deputies identified the male, who advised he was walking back to his residence.
4:50 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint regarding threats and harassment on May Avenue in Chauncey. Deputies responded to the area to investigate the complaint. Deputies spoke with the complainant, as well as the male that was threatening him, and it was determined that there was probable cause to arrest the male making threats. The male was then arrested and transported to Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail without incident.
5:06 p.m. — Deputies responded to State Route 13 near Chauncey in reference to an animal complaint. Deputies patrolled the area and spoke to a resident who confirmed that his dog was barking but everything was fine. Deputies returned to patrol.
5:52 p.m. — Deputies spoke with a Nelsonville man in reference to a theft involving money. The case is under review.
6:06 p.m. — Deputies were on patrol when they observed a traffic accident on East Canal Street in Nelsonville. Units assisted at the scene until the Nelsonville Police Department arrived.
6:53 p.m. — Deputies responded to Albany in reference to a menacing complaint. Deputies spoke with all involved parties, and the suspect was given a summons to court.
10:31 p.m. — Deputies responded to Troy Township for a loud noise complaint. This has been an ongoing issue, so deputies were in the area and patrolled for approximately 35 minutes. With the exception of commercial vehicle jake brakes coming from SR 7/ US 50, and coyotes off in the distance, no other audible disturbance was observed. No further action taken.
11:15 a.m. — Deputies received a report of possible fraudulent activity on a credit card. The caller called back stating that a report was no longer needed, as he had made a mistake when he purchased the items.
4:10 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Luhrig Road in Athens. Deputies patrolled the area and located one vehicle off the side of the roadway. The vehicle was determined to be abandoned, as well as a road hazard. The vehicle was towed, and deputies resumed patrol.
4:15 p.m. — Deputies responded to Louise Lane, Athens, in reference to a son possibly hiding his dads’ wallet. On scene, deputies discovered that the wallet was not hidden and returned to patrol.
4:52 p.m. — Deputies responded to The Plains in reference to a juvenile issue. Deputies spoke with all involved parties, and the situation was handled on scene.
5:24 p.m. — Deputies with the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were flagged down by a man in The Plains regarding a malnourished dog. Deputies stopped to speak with the man and contacted the Dog Warden regarding the dog’s health. The dog was then taken to a veterinarian’s office in Athens.
5:47 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a third-party complaint of a possible road rage incident on State Route 50 East in Albany. Deputies responded to the area and were able to make contact with several parties involved and a report was taken. This incident remains under investigation.
6:08 p.m. — Deputies responded to Rainbow Lake Road in Athens for a domestic violence complaint. On scene, deputies spoke with all involved parties. No evidence of physical injury or threats of physical injury were present; however, the male suspect was taken to for a mental evaluation based on behavior deputies witnessed on scene.
7:33 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to US 50 near United Lane in Athens for a report of an object obstructing the roadway. Units patrolled the area but were unable to locate the object. Units resumed patrol.
7:55 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a man being disorderly on Vore Ridge Road in Athens. Deputies responded to the area to check on the male but were unable to locate him. Deputies resumed patrol.
