JACKSON — Mallory “Mal” Green puts her whole heart into everything she does.
She was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and has endured three major surgeries in her young life.
Mal is a former recipient of a “Make-A-Wish” gift. Mal’s wish was to visit Walt Disney World, which she did in fall 2017. Since that time, she has worked to raise money to give back for other kids to receive wishes through the organization.
Last year, Mal and her family set up a lemonade stand in front of Skaggs Law Office in Jackson and raised more than $1,800 in donations.
The family hosted another lemonade stand in June at the same location with hopes the community would support her cause once more.
Mal gave away refreshing cups of lemonade, sweet tea, water and sugar cookies all for a donation. Thanks to social media and word-to-mouth, Mal’s two-hour fundraiser netted more than $2,500. Her goal in 2019 was to raise $2,000, which she has surpassed and then some.
All proceeds collected from the event are headed to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
