One man has been arrested and another suspect is being sought in connection with an armed robbery in Mineral.

Thomas Reasoner, 18, made his initial appearance Tuesday in Athens County Municipal Court on a felony charge of aggravated robbery that alleges he stole items from a Route 356 residence while armed with a handgun. His bond was set at $100,000 and Judge Todd Grace scheduled a preliminary hearing for June 20.

In his application for a public defender, Reasoner listed his address as Coal Run Road, Athens, while another court document lists it as West State Street in Athens, a court staff person said.

According to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, the victim said she found two men in her home last Sunday and during an argument a gun was brandished by one of the suspects. She also told deputies that shots were fired by the suspect, but she was not injured, and the two men fled into a wooded area.

An affidavit from the sheriff’s office seeking an arrest warrant asserts there is video evidence of Reasoner at the residence with a gun. Also, the affidavit states that items taken from the residence were found outside in a vehicle belonging to Reasoner’s girlfriend.

Reasoner was located in Nelsonville by authorities on Tuesday.

The vehicle was impounded. The girlfriend told investigators that she let Reasoner use the vehicle, the affidavit states.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation revealed that the handgun that was fired at the Mineral residence was one of the guns taken in the burglary of a Nelsonville-area residence.

The sheriff’s office also obtained an arrest warrant for George F. Allbaugh, 31, Athens, in connection with the incident in Mineral. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about Allbaugh’s whereabouts to call 740-593-6633.
