Athens County Food Bank

What made you choose that Reason?

With a population of 65,103, Athens County has a 19.9 percent food insecurity rate, which represents an estimated 12,970 food insecure individuals (or 1-in-5 Athens County residents). The Athens County Food Pantry is dedicated to providing supplemental and emergency food aid to eligible residents of Athens County who find themselves in need. The food pantry has served the citizens of Athens County for over 35 years, delivering aid in the form of direct food disbursements.

This is an all-volunteer non-profit organization, and the dedicated team works to ensure that food is always available for those in need.

What else should people know about that organization/Reason?

The Athens County Food Pantry depends entirely upon the support of our community, through individual and group donations, churches, business partners, grants, United Appeal for Athens County, and fundraisers such as Race for a Reason.

How many years have you participated with Race for a Reason?

This is my first Race for a Reason.
