Throwback Thursday: April 1987 snowstorm

Who remembers the big April snow of ‘87? The official measurement was 17 inches of snow in Athens. There were power outages, downed trees, and cars in ditches. And if you were driving down Mill Street at a certain hour you were bound to get pelted by a barrage of snowballs courtesy of the neighborhood fraternity boys. See a gallery of photos from the snowstorm online at athensmessenger.com.
