Torch Run

The annual Law Enforcement Torch Run, which started Monday and ends Friday, is an event to promote the Special Olympics. The torch began its journey in Marietta and changes hands in Athens, Logan, and other cities on its way to Columbus. The final run will be toward Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium at The Ohio State University. This will be the kick-off of the Special Olympics Summer Games. In Athens, Wednesday, the torch was handed off to Nick Magruder (far right with torch) of Athens Police Department. This group will make a small run to the Convo, then a smaller group will run to Logan.
