High water in Amesville

The area of Amesville is often flooded, as it was in this 2017 file photo. The Ohio Department of Transportation reported high water at many Athens County roadways, including Route 550.

The Athens County Engineer’s Office has closed County Road 59A (Ireland) from Troy Twp. Road 177 (Clark) to the Washington County line until further notice. The roadway is being closed due to a collapsed culvert.
