Police have released the name of the man who died Friday in a fall from the Athens city parking garage.
Evan Key, 36, of Athens, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Athens County coroner.
Police and Athens County Emergency Medical Service personnel responded to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday and found Key on the sidewalk near the entrance to the garage. Police have been investigating the circumstances of the death.
“I cannot comment on what we have determined, except to say that at this point in the investigation nothing has suggested foul play,” Chief Tom Pyle said Monday.
Police had issued a news release Friday night about the death.
“Initial indications are that he fell from the top of the parking garage,” the release stated.
