Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Jacksontown.
Betty passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023, in Newark. She was born on August 22, 1926, in Flora, Meigs County, to the late Ross and Zura E (Swartz) Hawk. She was a graduate of Shade High School marrying the love of her life shortly following graduation. Following their marriage, they relocated to Hebron to manage a farm. She worked at Weekly Reader and in various bookkeeping roles (Flo-lizer & Sears) throughout her life before taking time to enjoy her passion as a florist for Kelley's Flowers. In 1982, she and her late husband pursued their dream of owning a family farm where she was active in helping with business management and sales becoming well known in the community for sweet corn.
Betty was actively involved in Grange, ABWA (where she served as President), and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was passionate about her family, sports, and puzzles. Early in life she played travel softball, participated in a bowling league, and enjoyed golfing. If she wasn't in the bleachers watching the Buckeyes or one of her many grandchildren, she was watching from home.
She is survived by her children Gary Williams (Jane) of Georgia, Rodney (Kelly) Williams, and Annette "Annie" Williams, both of Jacksontown; grandchildren: Nicole (Mike) Courtney, Chad Williams, Matt Williams, Gina (Craig) Burdick, Ginger (Ben) Howe, Tyler (Tiffany) Gleason, Miranda (Seth) Short, and Jennifer (Brian) Zimmerman; great-grandchildren Jacob, Austin, Ty, Ben, Scottie, Caden, Ella, Bethany, Bridget, Brinley, Gage, Maria, & Rachel; sisters-in-law, Mary Hawk, Willa Jean Hawk, Betty Kelley and brother-in-law Marvin Pullins; special cousin Jane Williams; along with many nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends on Friday, February 24th from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Funeral Home, 285 East Main St. in Kirkersville. An on-line guest register and video tribute are available at www.hoskinsonfuneral.com. The family prefer that memorial be directed to Absolute Hospice, 7171 Keck Park Circle, North Canton, OH 44720.
