Glouster - Lois J. Angle, 89 of Glouster passed away February 28, 2023 at the Embassy Of Logan. Born December 23, 1933 in Dunbar, WV, she was the daughter of the late Hugh Garrett and Frances Garrett Smith (Denver) of Glouster. Lois worked for 20 years as a bank teller at the Glouster First National Bank and was co-owner and operator of Angle's Meat Market. She was a 1952 graduate of Glouster High School. She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ of Glouster and Bishopville and recently became a member of the Christ the King Catholic Church of Athens. She worked for many charities and regularly donated to charities such as Chix-4-a-Cure, Nationwide Children's Hospital, and St. Jude's. She was a loyal Trimble sports fan. She also enjoyed dancing, boating, reading and playing euchre with her late husband, Bob and friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Bob Angle, whom she married on December 22, 1951.
Lois is survived by two sons, Rex Angle of Nelsonville and David (Dena) Angle of Glouster; a daughter, Cathy Jo (Donnie) Corne of Laurelville; six grandchildren, Nathan Angle, Joshua Angle, Brock (Beth) Hogue, Kristen (Kyle) Andrews, Steven (Sydney) Angle, and Caleb Bryant; seven great grandchildren, Issac Riley, Parker Hogue, Liam Hogue, Sadie Kai and Wyatt Angle, Laynee Jago, and Emma Wilson; brother-in-law, Jan Angle; a lifelong special friend, Janice Dillon; and friends, Neil and Jeanine Butt, Al and Vickie Cote, Bonnie Christman, Sandy Gyure, and all the staff at the Glouster Library.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma Carol Garrett and Janet Leigh; and a brother Hugh Luck Garrett Jr.
There will be a Catholic Mass held at 11 a.m. on Monday March 6, 2023 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, Glouster with Fr. Jeremiah Hahn officiating. There will be a visitation on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.
