December 16
9:08 a.m. — Deputies responded to S. Canaan Road in Athens for a B&E report. This case is under investigation.
2:49 p.m. — Deputies responded to Lottridge Road in Guysville for a dispute. After speaking with both parties, they were warned that continued responses for this type of behavior could result in criminal charges. No further action at this time.
3:13 p.m. — Deputies responded to The Plains for a 911 call. Dispatch stated they spoke with the caller, who stated everything was fine and they didn’t mean to call. Once on scene, units spoke with the caller and determined the call to be accidental.
4:27 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible location for a male with several warrants on Columbus Road in Athens. Deputies responded to the area and were able to locate and arrest Douglas Lewis Young II. Young was arrested without incident and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.
4:37 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office responded to Chauncey for a report of a runaway juvenile. During the course of the investigation, units did locate the juvenile.
7:33 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 open-line phone call from State Route 682 in Athens. A deputy responded and made contact with a resident. It was determined that a child had been playing with a disconnected cell phone and dialed 911. Once this was determined, the deputy resumed patrol.
8:10 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a possible assault on Garfield Street in New Marshfield. A deputy responded to the residence and spoke with two involved parties. It was determined that no physical altercation had taken place.
December 17
1:55 a.m. -Deputies responded to The Plains for a juvenile complaint. A report was made.
2:16 a.m. — Deputies responded to Rainbow Lake Road in Athens for a report of a domestic dispute. Deputies made contact with the complainant, who advised that the other half had left the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. The complainant advised the incident was verbal only, with no violence or threats of violence, but he did not want the subject to return to the residence. Deputies advised the complainant of civil action that could be taken.
3:32 a.m. — Deputies responded to Chauncey for a report of a male lying on the side of the roadway. Deputies made contact with the male and transported him to his residence after being assessed by EMS. No further action taken.
9:10 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to Doanville for a report of a harassment/dispute. Upon arriving in the area, all involved parties had left. Deputies patrolled the area then returned to routine patrol.
10:38 a.m. — Deputies responded to Fisher Road in Albany for a report of an individual going through people’s mailboxes. Deputies patrolled the area intensively but were unable to locate the individual.
11:32 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to Biddyville Road in New Marshfield for a well-being check. Deputies had negative contact with any persons at the residence.
11:36 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched Athens for a well-being check on a juvenile. While en route, deputies were advised everything was fine and to cancel their response.
2:06 p.m. — Deputies responded to SR 681 in Albany to assist the Hernando County, Florida, Sheriff’s Office with an active investigation in their jurisdiction. Deputies collected a statement and returned to patrol.
4:03 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a female experiencing a mental health crisis in Athens. Deputies responded to the residence of the female and spoke with her. After speaking with the female, she was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
6:16 p.m. — Deputies received a complaint about the possible theft of a package from The Plains. The incident has been reported and is under investigation.
6:21 p.m. — Deputies responded to State Route 550 in Athens in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
7:10 p.m. — Deputies spoke with a female on the phone regarding the violation of a protection order. This incident was reviewed and a request for a warrant was filed.
8:14 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to The Plains for a harassment complaint involving juveniles.
8:40 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Lemaster Road in Athens. Deputies responded to the area and made contact with a male in a truck. Deputies spoke with the male and discovered he was having problems with his truck, and he advised them he was getting a ride from a friend.
9:08 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of harassment on Woodbrook Road in Albany. A deputy spoke with the complainant over the phone and a report was taken.
9:43 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster in reference to a parking complaint. Deputies patrolled the area but did not locate the described vehicle.
10:17 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report of domestic violence on Greens Run Road, Glouster. Once on scene, deputies spoke with the involved parties, who advised that no violence had occurred and that only a verbal dispute had occurred. Deputies observed no evidence of violence, then requested that the parties separate to avoid further conflict.
December 18
12:13 a.m. — Deputies responded to New Floodwood Road, Nelsonville, for a report of a possible trespasser. The complainant advised that he believed he had heard somebody running from his property and requested the area be patrolled. Deputies patrolled the area, observing no suspicious activity.
12:44 a.m. — Deputies responded to Troy Township in reference to a domestic incident that was reported to AC 911. Contact was made with multiple family members and involved parties, and it was determined that the victim was not wanting to pursue criminal charges. Due to visible injuries on the victim, the suspect was arrested for domestic violence.
7:15 a.m. — Deputies responded to US Route 33 in Nelsonville to assist a motorist that was stuck in the median. Deputies contacted a local tow truck, which removed the vehicle from the median.
11:38 a.m. — Deputies responded to Oregon Ridge Road in Glouster for a B&E report. This matter is under investigation.
11:55 a.m. — Deputies responded to Old US 33 in Athens to assist the Ohio State Patrol on a vehicle crash. Deputies held the scene and returned to patrol.
12:25 p.m. — A resident of Perry Ridge Road in Nelsonville reported a debit card had been compromised. A report was taken.
12:48 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to McDonald Street in The Plains for an active dispute. Deputies arrived on scene and the dispute was found to be verbal only. Involved parties agreed to separate for the day and deputies returned to patrol.
2:45 p.m. — Deputies responded to Fisher Road in Athens in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Deputies patrolled the area, and eventually made contact with the described vehicle. Deputies spoke with the driver of the vehicle but found nothing suspicious in the vehicle.
3:26 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 open-line phone call from Connett Road in Nelsonville. A deputy responded to the residence and spoke with a female that advised everything was fine. The female stated she has been having troubles with her phone and she had no emergency.
3:36 p.m. — Deputies responded to The Plains in reference to a suspicious person complaint. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate the described suspect.
4:11 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a wrong way driver on U.S. Route 33 near East State Street in Athens. Deputies responded to the area and patrolled but were unable to locate any vehicles driving the wrong way.
7:06 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Broad Street and Fairview Avenue in Glouster for a parking complaint. Upon arrival, the parking issue had been resolved.
7:17 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a suspicious person near the Family Dollar in New Marshfield. Deputies patrolled the area but were unable to locate anyone.
7:41 p.m. — Deputies spoke with a Nelsonville woman in reference to a theft complaint. A report was made, and an investigation is pending.
9:21 p.m. — Deputies took an incident report involving misplaced property on Eighth Street in Jacksonville. The case remains under investigation.
9:58 p.m. — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of suspicious activity on Monroe Avenue in Chauncey. A deputy patrolled the area but did not notice anything out of the ordinary.
11:24 p.m. — Deputies responded to Trimble Township in reference to a juvenile runaway. Upon arrival, the juvenile was walking across the yard of the residence returning home. The juvenile was left in custody of the father and stepmother and agreed to remain there for the rest of the evening.
