3:08 a.m. — Deputies responded to the Little General gas station in Albany for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The driver, Roger Barber Jr., was asleep inside the vehicle when deputies arrived. Barber had several active out-of-county warrants and was arrested. Barber was transported and booked into SEORJ without further incident.
2:14 p.m. — Deputies patrolled Bassett Road in Athens for livestock that was reported to be in the roadway. Once in the area, one cow was located along the side of the road. Contact was made with a relative of the owner, who took care of the issue.
4:41 p.m. — Deputies did a well-being check on a juvenile in Athens. Once on scene, units spoke with the juvenile and his mother, and no additional action was required.
4:49 p.m. — Deputies responded to New Marshfield for a third-party report of property damage. A report was taken, and deputies will be making contact with the person in control of the property.
4:53 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster for a third-party complaint of a dispute. Deputies made contact with the residence, and a report was made.
4:55 p.m. — Deputies took a report of theft over the phone. The caller reported his ex-fiancé, who had moved out the day prior, had returned and taken items the caller believed to be his. The caller was advised his situation was a civil matter, however, a report for a damaged door was taken for his landlord.
5:20 p.m. -Deputies received a report of items taken from a vehicle in The Plains. The vehicle owner only wished to have it documented that the items went missing.
5:33 p.m. — Deputies responded to Wollett Road in Nelsonville for a threat complaint. Deputies spoke with one half of the parties but were unable to speak with the other half, as they had fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Attempts to locate will be made.
6:15 p.m. — Deputies assisted the Ohio State Patrol with a traffic accident on US 33 near Movies Ten in Nelsonville.
9:13 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster in reference to a well-being check on juveniles. Deputies spoke with the homeowner and were allowed to inspect the residence.Deputies found everything to be okay and returned to patrol.
11: 36 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle on West Bailey Road, Nelsonville. Deputies patrolled the area but were not able to locate a vehicle matching the description.
11:38 p.m. — Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Ladd Ridge Road, Athens. Once on scene, deputies spoke with involved parties, learning that no violence had occurred, and the incident was verbal only. The female half agreed to stay with a family member for the night to avoid further conflict. Units returned to patrol.
November 27
4:13 a.m. — Deputies responded to Athens township and took a report of an assault. This case remains under investigation.
9:32 a.m. — Deputies were dispatched to Cherry Ridge Road, Albany, for a report of a suspicious vehicle / suspicious person. Upon arriving in the area, deputies located the vehicle and the person, and found the vehicle was broken down. Deputies assisted the individual and the vehicle was removed.
1:52 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to West Wilson Road, Athens, for a report of an abandoned vehicle. Upon arriving on scene, deputies found the vehicle was not abandoned and returned to patrol.
2:19 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to SR 550 in Athens for a report of an active dispute. Upon arriving on scene, deputies spoke to both involved parties and the dispute was found to be verbal only. Involved parties were separated and deputies returned to patrol.
2:47 p.m. — Deputies responded to Lyndon Road, Coolville, in reference to an open line 9-1-1 call. Deputies spoke with the residents and found everything to be okay. No further action needed.
4:36 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster for a third-party report of domestic violence. Deputies located both of the involved parties at separate locations, and they were advised by both parties that no violence or threats of violence occurred. With no evidence of domestic violence being observed, and with neither party requesting any assistance, deputies returned to patrol.
5:13 p.m. — Deputies responded to Canaan Road, Guysville, for an animal complaint. Deputies spoke with both parties and a report was made.
5:59 p.m. — Deputies responded to Chauncey for a report of a male refusing to leave a residence and disputing with the resident. The resident completed a Trespass Warning, and deputies served the male with a copy when they located him back at his home. No further action was requested.
6:49 p.m. — Deputies received a complaint of a missing person. Soon after the complaint was made, the person was located. No further action needed.
6:56 p.m. — Deputies were dispatched to Angel Ridge Road in Athens for a residential alarm activation. Prior to deputy arrival, the homeowner advised that deputies could cancel, due to it being a false alarm.
7:44 p.m. — Deputies responded to Canaan Township and performed a death notification at the request of an out of state agency.
8:39 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster in reference to a juvenile complaint. Deputies made contact with all parties, and the issue was solved on scene.
8:55 p.m. — Deputies responded to The Plains for a report of a male hiding suspiciously when he was observed near the caller’s home. Deputies were unable to locate anyone when they performed foot patrol of the area.
9:31 p.m. — Deputies responded to Athens Township and took a report of a death. The Athens County Coroner found the death to be by natural causes.
9:50 p.m. — Deputies responded to Glouster in reference to a menacing complaint. Deputies made contact with the complainant and a report was made.
November 28
12:30 a.m. — Deputies received a complaint regarding the sale of a used vehicle. Once on scene, deputies learned that no criminal activity had taken place and the issue was civil in nature. No further action was taken.
2:47 a.m. — Deputies responded to Alderman Road, Athens, for a report of possible trespassers on a vacant lot. Deputies located the involved subjects, who were having vehicle problems on the roadside. The subjects were advised to stay on the right of way while they awaited their ride. Units resumed patrol.
5:02 a.m. — Deputies responded to an activated business alarm in Dover township. This was found to be an accidental activation set off by staff.
5:34 a.m. — Deputies responded to a patrol request in Athens township to attempt to locate a male with several warrants. Alex Riley was later located and arrested on warrants out of Athens County and transported to SEORJ.
