7:42 a.m., OU Golf Course — Took a report of damage to the watering stand at the golf course.

Tuesday, May 28

11:07 p.m., Richland Avenue — Citation issued to Wesley R. Hanlon for operating a vehicle while impaired.

Athens County Sheriff’s Office

Tuesday, May 28

6:53 a.m., Nelsonville — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a Diamond Brick Road resident in Nelsonville, that his black 2005 Chevy Duramax 2500 truck with tinted headlights was stolen from his residence. A report was taken.

1:47 p.m., Nelsonville — Deputies received a report from a Scenic Lane resident in Nelsonville that his vehicle was entered overnight with personal information stolen. A report was taken.

9:19 p.m., Coolville — The Athens County Sheriff’s Office was advised by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office that they had in their custody an Athens man with active warrants. Deputies met WCSO at the county line and took custody of Anthony R. James, age 49, of Reedsville and transported him to regional jail without incident.

Athens Fire:

Sunday, May 26

4:51 a.m., Fusion Noodle Company — Athens Fire Department was dispatched to a car on fire behind Fusion Noodle Company, 30 W. Union St. Athens Police was on scene and used two dry chem fire extinguishers to extinguish the fire. Fire was still smoldering near fuel tank. Athens Fire flushed with water. The car was filled with smoke and the driver’s door window was removed for access and ventilation. The vehicle’s alarm was activated so the car battery was disconnected. All doors were opened and truck was accessed through the back seats. There was minimal contents in the vehicle. The vehicle was turned over to Athens Police for further investigation.
