Athens Police:

Wednesday, May 22

9:27 a.m., West Union Street — Officers responded to the Ohio Lottery Commission, 190 W. Union St., to take a report of damage done to a vehicle’s gas tank while parked overnight in the parking lot.

10:46 a.m., Dairy Lane — Officers responded to the Respite Center, 7676 Dairy Lane, for a report of damage done to a van’s gas tank belonging to Hopewell Health Center.

Wednesday, May 22

8:08 a.m., Gun Club Road — Deputies took a theft report from a Gun Club Road resident. The victim advised a vehicle entered their property when they were not home and took a gas can. A neighbor witnessed the vehicle pull in but could not obtain a license plate number.

8:53 a.m., New Marshfield Cemetery — The sheriff’s office was dispatched to the New Marshfield Cemetery on Old Route 56 for a report of damage to a building. Deputies arrived on scene and a report was taken.

9:06 a.m., The Plains — Deputies were dispatched to North Plains Road for a report of a bicycle being located. Upon arriving on scene, a check of reports yielded no stolen bicycles. The bike was secured, and deputies returned to patrol.

3:21 p.m., Columbus Road — The Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation on Columbus Road. Deputies detected an odor of marijuana as they approached the vehicle. Michael Tolliver, age 35, of Chauncey and Amber Drake, age 31, of Chauncey were identified and were showing active warrants for their arrest. Tolliver was arrested and upon a search of his person, yielded items suspected as Suboxone in a pant pocket. A search was conducted on the vehicle and an amount of marijuana was located and seized. Due to lack of female jail space, Drake provided an up to date address to Muskingum County and was released. Additional charges are suspected pending lab results.
