Tuesday, June 11
6:15 p.m., Stewart — The sheriff’s office responded to Poston’s Carry Out on Route 144 in Stewart regarding a theft complaint. Deputies contacted the business owner and took a report of the incident. This matter is currently under investigation.
8:19 a.m., Nelsonville — The sheriff’s office was dispatched to Elm Rock Road for a report of a vehicle broken into. Deputies spoke with the complainant and discovered that change had been taken from the vehicle. A report was taken.
12:36 p.m., Nelsonville — The sheriff’s office was dispatched to Elm Rock Road for a report of a vehicle broken into. Deputies spoke with the complainant and discovered nothing was taken from the vehicle. A report was taken.
2:10 p.m., Nelsonville — The sheriff’s office was dispatched to Elm Rock Road for a report of a vehicle broken into. A disabled vehicle parked in a pull off had a widow broken and appeared to be rummaged through. The owner was contacted and came to the scene. Nothing appeared to be missing from the vehicle. A report was taken.
2:53 p.m., Nelsonville — The sheriff’s office responded to Route 691 for a report of theft from a motor vehicle. The caller advised that during the night, someone went through her car and took all the change and a few dollar bills. She requested to file a report so that additional patrols could be made of the area.
6:10 p.m., Nelsonville — The Criminal Interdiction Unit along with the Nelsonville Police Department received information pertaining to the whereabouts of a male with an active warrant for his arrest. Upon arrival at a Back Street residence in Nelsonville, units were able to locate Thomas Reasoner, age 18, of Athens. He was placed under arrest and transported to regional jail.
7:06 p.m., Athens — The sheriff’s office received a report of theft on Enlow Road. Deputies met with the complainant, who advised that numerous items were stolen from his garage overnight. This case is under further investigation.
Tuesday, June 11
8:16 a.m., West Washington Street — Officers responded to 300 W. State St. in reference to a criminal trespass. Tyler Ball, 24, of Nelsonville, and Makenzi Miller, 20, of Albany, were arrested for criminal trespass and taken to Athens Municipal Court for arraignment. This case is closed by arrest.
12:43 p.m., East State Street — Officers responded to East State Street near Kay Jewelers for a complaint of a man unconscious in a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers spoke to Jeffrey Metcalf, 28, of Guysville. Officers learned that Metcalf had outstanding arrest warrants from four neighboring jurisdictions. He was arrested and taken to regional jail.
