NELSONVILLE — Authorities are looking for a man who reportedly attempted to rob someone Wednesday afternoon on the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway.

The person being sought is described as a white male, about 6-feet 1-inch tall, between 30 and 40 years of age with brown eyes. At the time of the incident he was wearing jeans and a gray hoodie with the hood up.

Few details of the incident have been released. It occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on a section of the bike path near Movies 10. The victim initially went to the Hocking College Police Department, which then contacted the Athens County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was checked by Athens County Emergency Medical Services, but a brief media report released by the sheriff's office does not indicate he was transported to a hospital.
