Sew on and sew forth

Kids can learn a lot about life in Kimberly Shuster's Home Ec class at Athens Middle School. They learn to cook and today they are learning to use a sewing machine. Seventh grader, Elizabeth Gabriel, takes a close look at the sewing action of her machine as she connects two pieces of cloth together for the first time. The class cuts out a pattern, sews pieces together, and at the end of the project come home with a beautiful stuffed platypus with button eyes.
