Throwback Thursday

Now, it’s just an empty green space called Howard Park. But back in 1948, it was the home of a popular Ohio University men’s dorm, Howard Hall. It was located across the street from the University Gateway at the corner of East Union and College streets. Those who lived in the dorms were known as “Howardettes.” They had their own newspaper called the “Howard Howler.” It’s not clear why all these young men were lined up outside the dorm for this picture ... maybe these Howardettes were waiting for the Howard Howler to come out.
